Earlier this week Reliance Jio had to face severe criticism for charging six paise per minute for outgoing calls made to other networks from its network. Now, The reliance Jio has announced that it will continue to offer free call service to subscribers who made recharge on or before October 9.the company previously made claim that new voice charge will be at prevailing Interconnect usage charge rate that has been fixed by TRAI for mobile operator enabling inter-network outgoing call. Jio has decided that it will give additional 1GB data on every 10 rs spent by the user to compensate for this additional cost.
the subscribers who recharged their no. on or before October 9 will continue to offer free call until the validity of their plans, this announcement was posted on the company’s official Twitter account. this means that you will able to make a free call to the other network until your existing plan expires. after that you have to recharge with one of the IUC top-up packs in order to make a voice call to the other network.
Reliance Jio announced four IUC top-up vouchers— ranging from Rs.10 to Rs.100. these vouchers offering Talktime from 124 minutes up to 1,362 minutes also Jio allowing up to 20GB of extra data along with. these Jio vouchers are required for making outgoing calls to other telco networks, irrespective of which it is applicable to all Jio plans. Jio has mentioned that Jio users will be able to make free calls to other Jio numbers and can continue to use VOIP platform such as WhatsApp, Apple Facetime Etc.
